About Tim
Tim Brown, also known as El Caballo Bailando (The Dancing Horse), is a Denver-based filmmaker drawn to stories shaped by place, process, and the human spirit.
With a background in both film and literature, Tim approaches filmmaking as more than visuals alone. He’s interested in narrative.
In why people do what they do. In the environments that shape them. And in the moments that feel real because they aren’t forced.
He holds a degree in Film and Television from University of Colorado Denver and a degree in English Literature from Colorado State University. That combination informs how he works behind the camera, blending visual storytelling with a deep respect for structure, meaning, and story arc.
Tim specializes in documentary-style filmmaking, particularly within outdoor and adventure spaces. His work often centers on people in relationship with the natural world, capturing resilience, curiosity, craft, and the quiet moments that reveal who someone really is.
He has directed and produced feature-length documentaries and narrative shorts, while also contributing to Denver’s broader media landscape through work on films, television productions, commercials, and live concert projects.
No matter the setting, Tim’s approach remains the same: observe first, listen closely, and let the story unfold naturally. He believes the most compelling films don’t try to convince — they invite people in.
